Here we are now coming into the end of another year. What a fabulous year it's been for the JOS Tic Tac Toe Challenge blog! We've had consistently fabulous projects, using the amazing tic tac toe boards we've each had a share in creating and we've seen tons of lovely projects entered by our readers. Not many to go now and we'll be onto 2020.
So the grid for October was designed by Angie McKenzie and this one felt very autumnal to me. I struggled a bit I'll tell you, especially with the middle square. I looked and said it aloud and asked the universe what on Earth does watercolour smooching mean? Of course Google and You Tube helped me out and I came up with something.
I show how I did my smooching on my video which should be live now on my channel but just quickly I used an old quilting ruler and covered that with a used (but clean) zip lock bag, then I stamped some Tim Holz distress ink onto the plastic bag and spritzed with water and lay my piece of white cardstock down on it and gave it a rub. A quick dry with my heat gun and then another bit of circular inking and repetition of the process and I was done. I quite liked it and will definitely try it again. I tore a chunk off to add to my card. I love the torn look.
So I opted for the middle horizontal and used silver foil as my bottom layer and as one of the layers for my sentiment and for the apples I used a really cute stamp and die set I bought from Clearly Besotted. I stamped my sentiment from the same set and did all of that stamping with Gorgeous Grape ink from Stampin' Up!. I also added a little touch of the same coloured card stock to the background for my little apples to sit on, fixed with mini dimensionals.
I really enjoyed making this card, it pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me try something new. Originally this was going to be quite a big card but in the design process it shrank a fair bit from a 5 x 6 to a 4 x 4 but I like it, it works.
Thank you for popping in, if you're a new visitor or an old friend, it's always good to have people look to see what I'm up to. Do pop and have a look at the JOS Tic Tac Toe Challenge blog and have a try yourself, it's a good one!
Have a great weekend.
