Joy of Sets Blog Hop

Hello and welcome (or welcome back if you've been here before)!

It's half way through September, can you believe it? Soon it will be 2020. Gosh that makes me feel old. I don't think I ever envisaged a day when it would be 2020, not even when I was a little Star Trek fanatic.

Anyway, it's time for another Joy of Sets Blog Hop and for this one I used the gorgeous Magnolia Lane Suite from Stampin' Up! At last! I've used bits of it at least, the fabulous DSP and the delicious organza ribbon and I added a stamp from the Everything Rosy collection which was a limited edition from Stampin' Up! several months ago.

Our brief was to make a tri-fold card so genius here, who picked the brief, made a gorgeous z fold card and then realised that a z fold and a tri-fold are two different things... the clue was in the different names I guess.

So I started again and recreated my z fold as a trifold. I opted for a more unusual 5 x 5 inch card which made scoring easy as I just had to score at 2.5 inches in from either end on the long side. I then added layers of the gorgeous papers using 3 of the designs in total and layered them up using a base of Whisper White with a mat of Old Olive beneath the papers. I stamped a little white piece for the inside for someone to write a greeting in the same Old Olive as I'd used for the front sentiment and added a couple of faint foliage accents for good measure. The ribbon just covered the joins in my front pieces and I sat another set of layered squares on top, gluing on one side so that it flaps open.

I'm really pleased with this card, I love flowers and I love greens against white and black, I think it can look very crisp against white and very rich and earthy against black. So that's all going on in the card.

So, thank you for joining me today. Have fun hopping around looking at what everyone else has made by clicking on the links at the bottom.

Have a great Sunday evening and enjoy the coming week.

  6. Love this Andrea - and it looks as though a lot of hoppers thought a z fold and tri fold were the same thing so you could have kept it as a z lol! Thanks for getting the hop organised - especially when you are so busy xx
