The Joy of Sets Challenge Blog March 2019 #JOSTTT003

Welcome to my papercraft blog. These months are passing so quickly, I can't believe it's March already and we're on to project number three for the Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge Blog.

Myself and the other design team members have been busy keeping up with all of your entries to the challenge. It's really fabulous to see so many joining in when we are such a new DT. Why not come and join in with this one designed by Jane Allmark? Just click the link above.

So this month I went with the middle horizontal line which included Embellishment, Nature and Layers. At first I was going to do something very earthy and natural and then the sun came out and all I could see was colour! I decided that lemons are natural so why not dig out the Lemon Zest stamp set from Stampin' Up! and grab the coordinating punch and set to work using some gorgeous Stampin' Up! In-colours, new and old.

I took the design for this easel fold card from a card I made from a free project download for Easter and I loved it so much I decided to replicate it here. I knew it gave me lots of space to work with to add layers and embellishments to fit the challenge brief.

I punched out some of the leaves and then stamped them using Call Me Clover, which I also used to stamp out the two piece sentiment. I stamped onto Whisper White using Lemon Lime Twist, Grapefruit Grove and Pineapple Punch inks to make the fruity slices. I stamped tone on tone for the lemons using Pineapple Punch ink and cardstock. I layered up using Whisper White, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch and Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and topped off with In-Colour DSP all from Stampin' Up!

For my final embellishment I added some retired self adhesive sequins and then I swept over the whole thing (more or less) with Wink of Stellar just to give that added something special.

Dimensionals (little foam sticky pads) helped me to achieve the elevations I wanted to give the card depth and more of a layered feel and to help the stopper prevent the easel card from sliding too far forward.

I had great fun making this card while the sun shone and hope that it goes down well on the JOS Tic Tac Toe Blog. There is a video tutorial which goes with this which you can access on my You Tube channel by clicking here.

Thanks for dropping in.

    1. Thank you Jane, I know I really bent the brief, I was originally going with muted natural shades and then moved to colour and floral and eventually ended up here. Love how the creative mind works at times... when it works that is.
