I saw this cute little family stamp set in the Stampin' Up! Occasions catalogue and had to have it. Then I got it and was slightly underwhelmed. It all seemed too small and fussy for me. But in true me style I decided to have a go and get stuck in anyway and as is often the case my mind was changed. I loved playing with this so much.
It's just so cute!
I made some self stamped papers to create milk carton style gift boxes with for a couple of little housewarming treats for people I know and wanted to replicate the family on the box. It was fun to do.
I much prefer the one where I stamped the outlines in Crumb Cake ink, it's so much more subtle and less harsh than the one where I stamped in Basic Black but I did that so as not to let the outline bleed into the rest of the image when I painted them in with the aqua blender and inks. I also prefer the two tone of the Crumb Cake with the Balmy Blue, it's less fussy then the other one where I used more colours.
There is a video showing how I made the paper and how to make the box if you want to take a look at this set in action. The paper stamping section is inserted before I get into making the box.
Have a fun Sunday and thanks for dropping in.
