It's also the one year anniversary today of my 18 year old nephew's funeral. Whilst that isn't something most would associate with giving thanks for, we do have to be grateful for the years we were able to have him in our lives, for the memories and of course for the fact that we are still here. Sometimes it just doesn't seem fair that he is gone so young and we live on, but we do have life and as long as we have that we do have something to be thankful for, no matter what other trials come our way. Just waking up each day gives us hope for another new amazing day to make of what we will.
I was prompted by Fiona over on the Joy of Sets Facebook group to make a Thank You card even though I made it too late for the challenge. I was delighted to get a chance to use the Vertical Greetings set from Stampin' Up! I'll be explaining more about why I was so pleased to use this set in a later blog when I do my 2018 favourites. For now let it suffice to say that I took the opportunity to make a clean cut, minimalist card using just Whisper White and Tempting Turquoise cardstock, the stamp set and some Tempting Turquoise ink with a few carefully placed rhinestones.
I know Tempting Turquoise has retired from the Stampin' Up! colour palette but I do love it and even though I do love Balmy Blue which is perhaps the closest we get in the new colour range, I still have a real love of this gorgeous vibrant colour.
Thanks for popping in and please find time today to give thanks for something in your life, even if you are going through hard times, it's good to balance it out with a nod to something we have to be grateful for.
Have a great day.
