Saturday Shares

My new You Tube posting schedule means that Saturdays are my days for sharing card sketches I've done and also scrapbooking page sketches.

This week I've contributed to both the lovely Gaynor Boyce's Facebook group, Stamp With Joy and my fabulous upline's group Positively Papercraft by taking part in the weekly sketch challenge which both ladies set their members.

For Gaynor's I went with a non-Christmas card which I'm sure is refreshing to those of you who are all Christmased out by demonstrators and crafters.  I LOVE this card, which isn't 100% true to sketch but I'm glad about that as it shows I'm developing confidence in my card making... at last!

This one uses the absolutely gorgeous Tea Room Suite from Stampin' Up! These papers are seriously something else, even the texture of the paper is something else. It's slightly lighter weight than the other non-speciality DSPs in the Stampin' Up! range and that makes it just feel so delicate and yet it's strong enough to withstand scoring and folding no problem.

The card I made for Ann's challenge is a Christmas card and I opted for that theme because I'd just taken delivery of the gorgeous Santa's Workshop suite and had to use it. I LOVE these felted papers in the speciality DSP stack, they are just fabulous.  I kept this card almost true to sketch and added on some of the fab embellishments from the suite which are just so cute and add an instant bit of something special to a simple card.

My scrapbooking page was themed around a trip to New York I made with my kids one winter and uses Broadway Bound DSP as that's where we spent a lot of our time, watching shows, eating and shopping. I also loved the glitz and glamour of NYC and this paper added that with its rich foiling. I used retired foiled snowflakes from Stampin' Up! to finish off the look and simply titled it NYC using black alphabet die cuts.

Video tutorials for each of these projects are available on my You Tube channel and can be accessed by clicking on the captions under each photo.

Have a great weekend and thank you so much for dropping in.
