I wondered if I could make some little cake stands to display items on in photos and for crafty fayres. So I got a few bits and bobs together and soon realised that I could make some and that they were very easy too.
I started off with a simple circular one made using this gorgeous Pineapple Punch cardstock from Stampin' Up!. I added a circle of In Colour 2018-20 DSP. I used a large circle die for this but you could use a cutting machine to pop one out or a circle cutter or draw around something and cut one out or even go right back to basics and use a compass.
The second one I thought I'd try something a bit more fancy so I opted for a large flower/scalloped circle die and using the same things as the first one I created a much cuter version and made it slightly shorter than the first attempt.
Then I had the idea to add cylindrical boxes made using a retired Stampin' Up! foiled DSP and fancy them up to make them resemble a wedding cake. I love how this turned out and I think it would make a fab photo prop, a great way to give something special to the bride and groom or as a table centrepiece filled with goodies or even for wedding showers. Just so many possible uses, I'll let you use your imagination.
There are video tutorials, one for the first two ideas and the other for the wedding cake set up.
Hope you enjoy giving these a go.
