These two very different cards were for very different sketch challenges. The first for Stamp with Joy and the second for Positively Papercraft two fabulous and fun papercrafting groups on Facebook run by the lovely Gaynor and Ann (respectively).
This first one I decided to use Blueberry Bushel for, the new In-Colour from Stampin' Up! The reason I chose it was because I didn't really like the colour and so I wanted to use it to see if that changed my mind. It did, I ended up loving finding the deep purple tones in this colour. I was a little disappointed that there is a lack of corresponding DSP in the Stampin' Up! collection though. But the great thing with Stampin' Up! is that if there isn't a DSP to match or meet your needs, you just grab an ink pad and make your own which is what I did here. I used Eastern Delights for this card almost exclusively because it's a set I've had for over a year and hardly used.
For this next card I went on a little bit of an appreciation curve again in that I'd not put Twinkle Twinkle DSP into my top 5 of the new papers from Stampin' Up! but after using it I want to squish 6 into my top 5 because the subtle beautiful tones are totally divine and these colours just work together. Who would put a soft pastel peachy tone and a soft mint green with navy blue? Stampin' Up! that's who and it works beautifully. Sometimes you have to dive in and use products before passing judgement on them.
If you're ever stuck for inspiration join in a sketch challenge, they are fantastic for pushing you to create and getting you to try new things.
