Earth Day Themed Project & Getting To Grips With Bike Ride

It's Earth Day today 22nd April 2018 and so I've done a little themed card which is quite loosely linked in that it kind of reminds us to use our bike more and the car less.

I've had this Bike Ride stamp set for a while, I really wanted it and asked for it as a prize when I won a challenge set by my team leader/upline.  Since I've had it I've been too scared to use it. I'm not the best stamper in the world and I think that's why I wanted this set as I knew it would be a bit of a challenge to use. I never imagined how much fun it would be to use though.

Now I've done it once I can't wait to use it again so expect to see plenty of cycles around here in the coming months.

So I took a Whisper White 4 x 4 base for this and keeping with my theme of using up scraps and retiring bits and bobs I added a Peekaboo Peach layer measuring just an eighth of an inch less and then a layer of DSP again an eighth of an inch smaller. I then used another piece of Whisper White which was... you guessed it... an eighth of an inch smaller.

Onto another piece of Whisper White I stamped the bike using Dapper Denim and Peekaboo Peach with Rose Red for the apples and Emerald Envy for the apple leaves and I also stamped off with the same apple leaves stamp and Emerald Envy to create a pattern on the top layer of Whisper White.

I used a sentiment from the Wood Words stamp set which has fast become a favourite of mine and then I used the two small scalloped circle punches to punch this sentiment out of the white background and to set it with dimensionals on top of a scalloped circle of Peekaboo Peach cut using the larger scalloped circle punch.

Finally I fussy cut the bike and added it to the card using dimensionals. All of the flat layers I stuck down with Tombow liquid adhesive.

I really had fun making this card and I'm sure the video tutorial shows that. So why not go check it out.

Also do pop along and look at the Earth Day website to find out what little things you can do to help preserve our planet.

Have fun!
