Doily Day #1 - Cute Doily Dress Card

I was having a good sort out of my craft room and realised that I own a huge quantity of little 3.5inch diameter paper doilies and yet I've never used one in a project. So I decided to have a mini series of tutorials using up not just a few doilies but also only scrap paper and card from my stash.

I've seen these cute doily dress cards around on Pinterest and thought I'd have a go at making one. I was a little dishearted and shocked even to find that I don't have a heart punch. I used to have one so I can only guess that I gave it to my daughter during my last de-stash. I did have dies shaped like hearts but couldn't find one the right size so I decided to come up with my own version of the dress using just folding and cutting.

I loved the result and really went to town on textures using the softly falling embossing folder and an edging die which created not only a heart shape but flip up hearts.

All materials used were current from Stampin' Up except the edging die which was part of the retired Love Notes Framelits set.

Why not join in and share some of your own doily creations too? I'd love to see them.
