Hexagonal Butterfly Box

This is a cute box which holds one of the Crafty Little Things 8oz container candles. The video tutorial is available by clicking here.

I used Lemon Lime twist for the box base and then added panels of Myths and Magic DSP to the box sides and the sides of the lid. I used panels of the same DSP on the top and bottom to cover up the joins.

This lid fits really snug so that there is no need for a closure, that's just achieved by moving the cardstock for the lid away from the left side of the score board by a sixteenth of an inch before scoring on the long side.

The cardstock required is as follows:

For the box
9.5 x 4.5 inches
Score at 1 inch on the short side and on the long side at 1.5, 3. 4.5, 6. 7.5 and 9 inches

For the lid
9.5 x 2.5 inches
Score at 1 inch on the short side and on the long side at 1.5, 3. 4.5, 6. 7.5 and 9 inches

Panels of DSP should measure 2.75 x 3.25 inches for the box and .75 x 1.25 for the sides of the lid

You'll also need 2 hexagons of DSP where the sides each measure 1.5 inches

For the butterflies I stamped Versamark onto vellum using the Butterfly Basics stamp set then used white embossing powder and a heat tool to emboss and then used a die from the Butterfly Frameits set to cut them out.

I used Tombow liquid adhesive throughout and also added either white and silver bakers twine or white ribbon to finish and a layered stitched shape oval in Whisper White and Vellum printed in Basic Gray with a sentiment.

Have fun trying this one.
