Happy Crafters Design Team Project #1

I'm delighted to have been chosen to be a part of the first ever Happy Crafters Design Team. Throughout this month I'll be making projects using a fabulous stamp set supplied by the wonderfully creative Ann Melvin at Positively Papercraft who is also my Stampin' Up! upline and head of the Happy Crafters team.

The stamp set Ann chose for us is the super cute Message in a Bottle.  I have made a quick video tutorial for the Crafty Little Things UK You Tube channel which can be viewed by CLICKING HERE.

For my first project I opted for a really simple card.

I started with Whisper White measuring 8 x 6 inches and scored at 4 inches on the long side to make the card base. I added a mat of Tempting Turquoise which was an eighth of an inch smaller on each side. I then added another layer of Whisper White with corners rounded off in the envelope punch board. Just over half way down I printed the ship from the stamp set and the whale so that just the tail would be showing. I stamped these in Early Espresso.

Next I added a Tempting Turquoise top layer which I attached using dimensionals to give the card some depth. I'd trimmed this with the scalloped edgelit which is retired but available on resale sites. I used Whisper White 3.2mm sheer ribbon to add a couple of lines of detail to the Tempting Turquoise and then accented each curve with a silver multi faceted glimmer dot.

I finished off the whole thing with a layered sentiment using the oval stitched shape framelits with a larger one in Tempting Turquoise and a smaller one in Whisper White stamped with the heart from the Message in a Bottle stamp set and the You Float My Boat sentiment and added a little bow of the white ribbon.

Hope you enjoy giving it a go. Thank you for dropping in and please consider signing up to this blog or subscribing to my You Tube channel the support is much appreciated.
