What do you think to this one? It's totally different to the others in the series in that there is not a traditional Christmas colour in sight. In honesty the original in the second photo was pretty unworkable for my Christmas Cheer project but the revised one in the first photo which I made whilst filming the video for my You Tube channel is more suitable for the purpose and I definitely prefer it.
I went with Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and ink, some Whisper White, used Watts of Occasions plus the Wonderful Life stamp sets. I also used the 13/4 inch circle punch.. On the original I also used Daffodil delight ink.
For my first attempt I used the Lemon Lime twist cardstock as my card base and then stamped the fairy light stamp from the Wonderful Life set in rows of Lemon Lime Twist and Daffodil Delight onto a Whisper White layer. It was meant to look a little chaotic as strings of fairy lights often do, but I couldn't decide if I liked it or not. I also fussy cut the light bulb image and layered it onto a fussy cut Lemon Lime Twist card layer. That's not very practical really for a batch card so I think I made a mistake with that.
I much preferred the easy to put together and clean lines of the second attempt where I used Whisper White as the card base, used the Lemon Lime Twist as a mat an then added a much less frantic stamped Whisper White layer. I stamped the fairy lights across the corners and stamped the light bulb image straight onto the layer. I like it so much more.
I made the sentiment the same way for each card punching out a Whisper White circle stamping on the sentiment from the Watts of Occasions stamp set and then off setting it on to a Lemon Lime Twist punched circle.
Much easier to batch make and you can see why by watching the video CLICK HERE
Tomorrow we go black and white for day 4.
Hope you can pop in to have a little nosey at what we came up with.
